Brenda Lyons is the Manager for the Delay/Disruption Tolerant Network (DTN). The DTN is managed by the Advanced Exploration Systems Division in the Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate at NASA, with the end goal of establishing the Solar System Internet. Brenda’s career at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, began in 1988, and has included pre-flight training, mission operations, and failure investigation and resolution for the Space Shuttle Program and International Space Station Program.
Delay and Disruption Tolerance and the Internet of Things
Delay tolerance is critical for interplanetary networking (IPN), where there are communication delays due to tremendous distances and ever-changing and intermittent route paths. The DTN solution also extend and secure the terrestrial Internet of Things.
